When we decided to introduce Damask designs, I wondered about their appeal. They are classic and lovely, but would they interest to Chic Shelf Paper customers?
They do, and they remain popular week after week!
Ornate–with a vintage feel–damasks are named because of their importance to the city of Damascus, which was a hub for trading, (as part of the Silk Road), and in manufacturing.
Damask is really a type of fabric, but today, many of us call damask a design or pattern. (A faux pas, but a mainstream one (!)
They appear everywhere—in fashion, on the wall in the form of wallpaper, and as interior design fabrics.
Chic Shelf Paper has devoted an entire category to Damasks, offered in variety of colors. You’ll find traditional motifs as well as a few with a modern twist!
