Colors and Patterns FAQ

Q:  Do the colors I see on my computer screen exactly match the printed Chic Shelf Paper?

A:  Every computer monitor displays color differently. While we take care to describe each pattern accurately, color interpretation is subjective.  In addition, each material we offer may take color application slightly differently.

If you are concerned about accurate color values, we recommend using our Free Sample offer for a test swatch on the exact material you wish to evaluate.

Q: What is your pattern orientation?

Materials are printed with the same orientation as displayed on screen, the side-to-side image in the pattern detail page is the width orientation and the up and down is the depth orientation.

Q:  I want stripes to run up and down on the back surface of a bookcase, but the maximum depth you allow is 24″.  Can you help?

A:  Yes.  Simply check the box that says “rotate pattern 90 degrees” before placing an item in your cart. You will only want to use this option for projects in which you want an asymmetrical pattern to be printed length-wise/horizontally versus up-and-down/vertically. The Chic Shelf Paper default orientation is up-and-down/vertically to accommodate surfaces that have a short depth such as 12”  deep shelves.

There is no charge.

Q: What is the scale of your patterns?

The pattern images on the product detail page  are about 5 3/8 (136mm) square when reproduced.

Q: Can Chic Shelf Paper apply a color I want to any pattern?

Yes. You can find information in Special Services: Custom Colors and Patterns.
